Crime Stoppers Promise of Anonymity:
By providing information through Crime Stoppers it will be shared with law enforcement agencies.
We understand that the disclosure of your identity could put you at risk. Crime Stoppers will do everything possible to protect your anonymity. However, your anonymity may be open to challenge in the following situations:
Should it be determined a call to Crime Stoppers is made with the intention of “furthering criminal activity or interfering with the administration of justice”. A party who is guilty of a crime cannot use Crime Stoppers to try to divert the blame onto someone else. Crime Stoppers cannot be used to try to “frame” an innocent person.
Should there be evidence that disclosure of some or all of a tip would establish someone’s innocence.
Should a Tipster who has received the benefit of full legal advice may, for his or her own reasons, choose to waive their privilege of anonymity.
Sexually Explicit Images and Videos:
Do not send any sexually explicit images or videos because they will be forwarded directly to law enforcement and the sender's anonymity cannot be assured. These will not be treated as a Crime Stoppers tip and will not be eligible for a reward.
